SyncCanine Team Up With CAM (Canine Arthritis Management)

Monday, September 02, 2019  ‹ Back To Latest News List

SyncCanine are delighted to be teaming up with CAM (Canine Arthritis Management) to support the Big September Walk Campaign. We will be hosting a charity walk at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire on the 28th of September 2019 along with a pop-up educational zone for dog owners.

The aim of the Big September Walk is to help raise awareness of canine arthritis and the management techniques that can be utilised to reduce pain and discomfort. Identifying the early stages of arthritis in your dog and ensuring you intervene can have a considerable impact on your dog’s wellbeing. No dog should suffer in silence so SyncCanine have teamed up with local professionals to ensure this message is heard loud and clear.

SyncCanine’s imaging service assists with the detection and monitoring of canine arthritis and we are delighted to host a Big September Walk on behalf of CAM. #yourdogmoreyears

Along with some fun for all we will be running an educational zone for pet owners where you can learn about canine arthritis management and how to keep your dogs comfortable.

We have collaborated with some excellent local services including Cheshire based Physio-vet Clinic . Physio-vet  is a state-of-the-art clinic specialising in orthopaedic and neurological problems in dogs and cats. The dedicated team of vets and nurses offer a friendly, caring service. The team are all highly qualified professionals with additional qualifications in orthopaedics, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and nutrition. They offer a complete service from diagnosis to treatment, nutritional advice, follow-up rehabilitation and ongoing monitoring. The Physio-vet team will be co running the educational zone on the day and it is a great opportunity to gain advice from leading professionals.

The Walk
The Follies at Hawkstone is historic woodland landscape with cliffs, crags, networks of caves, rhododendron jungles, stunning views and a series of extraordinary monuments. There are several routes available ranging in difficulty from 1 hour – 3hours.
Parts of the park and the main walking routes contain several flights of steps, some natural ones carved into rock and some man made wooden ones, this makes it unsuitable for canine trollies. The Follies is much more than a stroll in the woods therefore we would like to ensure that you have considered your dog’s fitness before tackling the longer 3 hour route. Our team will lead each route in smaller groups and be on hand to help you decide which is the most appropriate for you and your dog on the day.

Once you have completed your walk you can come back and visit the educational tent and head off for a well-earned coffee at the dog friendly glass house tea room on-site.

  • Individual tickets £20
  • Discounted Team Tickets x2 Adults £35
  • Family Pass x2 Adults x2 Children £45
All profits will be donated to CAM.

Event registration will take place at 10:30 and the walks will head off between 11:00 – 11:30. Our guide will bring you back to the education tent where your dog will be offered refreshments and you can chat to the professionals.
